Posted By Christopher Long Hi all,
May I ask all my fellow members out there ‘when does a fire corridor not require protection’? If you have a single storey building that has very small offices joining a main corridor and access to fire exits within 10 to 12 metres in each direction, is it really necessary that the route be protected. Is it really necessary to ensure that the partition-walled offices have fire doors and intumescent stips? Can the expense be justified? The building is a normal risk environment. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Take a look at 'Building regulations approved document B 2006'. This will answer all your questions. Available as a free download from the government.
