After a recent audit and a few conversations with contacts from other companies, I am wondering if it would better to transfer the auditting of our Management Systems to another organisation.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences of auditting organisations.

I can appreciate this may be a sensitive subject so I would welcome any opinions by email.

cheers - and have a good weekend.

Hi,
I recently completed a two day environmental management systems auditor course with a company called SGS. They also do health and safety management systems auditing and training.

I can highly recommend them. (I have no assocaition with this company other than attending their course).

I don't have full details for them, but I assume that Google will have their details.

Thanks, I'm thinking of the main companies, i.e. (and in no particular order or relevance), NQA, BSI, BM Trada to give examples.....

The Central procurement Directorate a NI Government Department recently carried out assessments on the known audit companies, testing them against ISO audit standards. They intend making a list available on their website. I have just checked and it is not on line yet. You could contact them to see where they are with the process and see if they will make the list available to you.

Their contact email is procure.info@dfpni.gov.uk

Best wishes

Mmm, are you looking for an audit company? It depends on what you are looking for. You could get one which will tell you just what you want to know - every thing is fine or its so bad you should stop doing it nad bury yourself in a big hole in the ground.

Yopu don't say which management sytem you are talking about. Presumably it a safety management system. There are quite a number of organisations which will offer a service at a price and in fact most of them are quite honest about it. Where do you wish to get as an organisation? There are companies such as BSI who offer a reasonable process but in my experience leave a little to be desired and also DNV a company with a bespoke H&S system which can be useful.

To ask who is the best or worse it is a matter of horses for cources. My recommendation is look at what you wish to achieve and go accordingly, hopefully to a very high standard.

We are an international group, and have used both BSI and DNV. I have found both to be very professional, but if I had to choose, I would opt for DNV, as they also offer excellent advice. This is a personal choice.

Thanks all.
To clarify further.....

We currently have an Integrated Management System accredited to 9001, 14001 and 18001.

We are currently using a large organisation to audit and thus acredit us but are looking to change to a different auditting organisation for various reasons.

I was just wondering if anyone had any good or bad experiences or auditting organisations?

Cheers
