Posted By Dan Davis Can anyone recommend software they have used for reporting, recording and analysing accident data, and inspection and audit results? I work for a Local Authority so the organisation is large and diverse.

Posted By tomahawk Dan,
I tried to find something recently without much success although I seem to recall at some time in my past H&S career that there is off the shelf software. I've even tried Googling it with no luck which seems odd for something which should be quite simple. Is there anyone out there who can help ?

Posted By J Knight Hi Dan,
We are in the process of purchasing a product called Datix (you'll find it with a Google search). This is (or can be) web-based, its main customer base is the NHS, and everything we have seen and heard about it looks good. It is flexible, uses easily generated forms and reposrt, and is not massively expensive (well under £10K p.a. for 30+ sites and 3,000 employees). We also evaluated a product called Sentinel from Vantage Software, and I have to say that the eventual decision was quite hard to make as this is also a polished and flexible piece of software, again a Google search will point you to them,

Posted By Bob Shillabeer Just a word of warning, when you select a package to containe all your accident data be aware of the requirements of the Data Protection Act. It is very easy to fall foul of this act and you could find yourself in serious trouble should the data protection thing get hold of you. The important thing is to remember that personal data is very impotant and does need to be protected from others.

Posted By Ian MacAskill I actually use our Quality system software (Q-Pulse) but there is a package available from Croner (or one of its partners) "Croner Software Accident Recording" - never used it but worth a look I am sure.

Posted By John-Mark Hi Dan,
What about Assessnet, or SHE? Our local authority currently uses Assessnet, but previously used SHE. SHE is modular - you buy which bits you want.
Try Googling for them.

Posted By Dan Davis Thanks for all the help. I'm looking at SHE and Croner, as well as the system our Risk Management Team uses called Figtree. There are so many systems, but few it seems with a proven track record in the Local Authority setting.

Posted By John-Mark Dan,
We've been using Assessnet for a number of years now. SHE was good but in the early days it was not very user friendly.
