I have been given the task of standing up in front of a potential client and giving a 5 minute presentation on how we will build his project safely. Typically the Safety Manager get told about these things last and I need to get something together quick haste.

Has anyone prepared something similar that I could see?

I want to talk about safe delivery, communication and cooperation, support, competent staff, resource, audit monitor and review etc. etc.

Can anyone help me out?

Hi I understand that this forum is all about sharing (see other post about this subject) and I frequently do share things.

If I was the client I would expect the company bidding for the work to prepare and deliver the presentation. I could obviously do this for you, but on this occasion believe that the supplier should be putting the time in.

However I am happy to review and comment on your presentation if that helps.

Good luck

Homer,

I've given this advice before on this forum : the only way to give a successful presentation (especially if it is important to you) is to research it, write it and prepare it yourself.

Obviously you have thought about the structure and content. Good start.

Next step is to research what there is to say on each heading. Then decide what you need to say.

Next do the PowerPoint slides (a few words but carefully designed to remind you what you should be talking about at this point)

Rather than continually swivelling my neck to look at the screen, I usually print ppt in document style with 6/8 slides per A4 page. Mainly this just serves to remind me which slide is coming next. (too easily forgotten)

Your research should give you the knowledge and depth to speak confidently. (forgive me if we are talking egg sucking grannies here)

Right. You have 24 hours continuous work, starting from now. No telly, no pub, quality time with the wife and kids can be made up after the presentation. (I will allow your wife to feed you a bacon buttie or equivalent on the hour, every hour)

If you really are under time (or hydraulic) pressure then a guzunda might help.

Merv
