Apologies if this has already been answered, but if an employee has a road accident while driving for business, should they put this in the company accident book? I know the restrictions under RIDDOR regarding reporting the accident, but I cannot find any guidance on accident book entry for incidents whilst driving. Or am I just not looking in the right place?

quote "for business".

Simple answer. Yes.

Several Police forces around the country are now apparently (so rumour has it) looking at accidents on the road and their relationship with the employers requirements etc. And that includes those travelling home from work after long shifts.

As above, any incident at work must be recorded in the incident book or record.
