Posted By Brigham Has anyone heard of an EU Directive that removes the right of employers to choose where they offer free eyetests. This of course is under the right of "users" to have a free eyetest.

Posted By andrew morris There has been discussion on a similar theme elsewhere. The upshot of it was, that many employers found it easier to say to staff, go to our opticians and its free, go to your own choice and we will pay up to x amount (normally the average fee - £15?) of their charge (on provision of receipt. The opticians you and them use must be happy and competant to provide advice relating to the workplace though.
This makes everyones life easier I think.... I don't know of any regulation (except at a push the Human Rights Act) Hope this helps
