Posted By Emma Forbes I may be well off the track here but were the former Abrasive Wheels Regulations of a "as far as is reasonably practicale" status and then superceded by PUWER which has "practicable" status?
Are there any former statutes that have changed status from reasonably practicable to practicable?
TIA.

Posted By Robert K Lewis They were actually absolute "every dangerous part must be guarded" originally, until the law permitted an exemption allowing part to be exposed to do work at this point they became practicable. PUWER has dropped the standard in my view as there is a school of thought that argues an assessment of risk can be made.
