Does anyone have any background information on the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database and the components of the audit/accreditation process?

Many thanks,

Very detailed question set on Safety and Environment. Even if you have accreditation to OHSAS18001 and ISO14001 still need to provide detailed information.
Accreditiation to ISO 9001 satisfies Quality section.

I have had a fair amount of involvement with the Achilles Link-Up system for the rail industry. Happy to give you some advice if you want to email; I can then call you this week or when you are free.

It can be very detailed, depending on the size and nature of the business.

All the best

Ian

Hi Roger,

I have been involved with this system over many years and have found that you need to follow the examples and evidence criteria. if you do this you should get over 60% easy.

if you need any more help give me a ring or email me.

regards stephen

Thanks everyone.

If anyone has any documents explaining the Achilles criteria for the waste management industry I'd be very grateful.

It always amazes me how ISO 9001 is accepted as a system that operates when 14001 to some extent and 18001 acreditation/certification by the same external auditors still have to be proved.

I have some experience; it makes COMAH seen concise!! The system is very rigorous and you need to have a functioning SMS (not just on paper!) and pass an annual tough audit.

The point to ask is what level of UVDB accredetation are you going for,

The basic level is the pre-qualification level which is predomintly a desk top study and completion of an online questionaire which must be kept up to date.

The next level is uvdb verify. you must be registered at the pre-qual level, you then have to be audited

A summary can be seen on http://www.achilles.com/...erify+supplier+services/

The verify is alot more indepth and is both an office and site based audit.

It will definitely be the verify scenario - with site visit. This is a new role for me - good experience!

Can anyone provide a steer with regard to the extent to which Achilles covers the new CDM organisational core criteria? Any similar views re CHAS and ConstructionLine would also be welcome.

Thanks RJ
