What material are you granulating and what height/size is the feed chute?

Did an accident investigation quite a number of years ago when a platform was built beside a granulator to allow easier manual filling. Only problem was, it allowed easy access to exposed moving parts of the machine, hence the accident. So to answer your query, I would say yes but beware of other hazards that might be exposed by your action.
