Posted By Lyndon Sutcliffe A senior director has shown interest in our long term plan of implementing OHSAS 18001. He has recommended that I source him an awareness course (hopefully with a reputable provider).
There are lots of these courses out there but my fear is that I will end up with a rebranded 9001:2000 course. For obvious reasons I would prefer the advice of an Health & Safety professional here.
I am struggling to find a 'one day' course. I would be grateful for emailed details of any recommended courses that they have attended(preferably in the north). Any information will be much appreciated as I need to strike whilst the iron is hot.

Are you looking for an open course for one director to attend or something in-house for a group?

As Steve has suggested you could try BSi, Lloyds Register, DNV etc.

Posted By Lyndon Sutcliffe Thanks.
The prices are a little daunting but the word 'cheap' wasn't in my original email so that was my fault.
Have any of you attended these courses? I have seen them on the net, but I need to know whether they are worth it from a qulaity point of view.
Thanks again

Posted By Julide Hi Lyndon
I can send you both 18001 and 18002 standards so that they may get an understanding of a management system.
Just email me,
regards,
Julide

Posted By Lyndon Sutcliffe Thanks for your offer, but I have already got copies of the standards.
I may now have resolved this issue. A training provider from a main 'engineering' trade body has offered to put me together a 18001/14001 awareness course (price permitting).
I do know that BSI provide courses, but I needed to know (from previous attendees) if people considered their courses to be of value.
I have previous experience of this type of course. I did not want the training provider to just get out the spec and read it out parrot fashion it as we could do that ourselves.
Thanks again

Posted By Lyndon Sutcliffe Here we go.
I am sorry for confusing you with my original query. I didn't intend it to be rhetorical.
I now regret posting the question in this section, it may have been more suited to the study support section. Although, I am nonetheless greatful for the people who have posted on here, offering me assistance.
