Posted By John Lawlor Hi All,
I am having great difficulty in setting up a couple of computer screens
we have changed all our screens from the CRT type to the TFT Type which should have reduced the amount of glare on them
But on some of the set ups no matter what I do I cant not get rid of the glare All the light fittings are all the non-glare type, blinds installed etc.
so I would appreciate any guidance please

As the issue is affecting more that just a few individuals could it be the case that overall your workplace is too bright?
I met something similar a few years ago for an office which had a low ceiling height. The lighting was very intense. The wattage of the light tubes was subsequently reduced to resolve this.
As a start you could use a lux meter to take light readings across the work area and compare these to the optimum design standards.
A word of advice if you go down this route - try to do this survey when the office is largely unoccupied otherwise you'll end up with loads of experts throwing in their tuppence worth.

Posted By Lulu Have you checked the obvious (I'm sure you have) that the screens are at right angles to the light source. So in other words are they vertical. When screens are too low they are often tilted upwards so they catch the glare from overhead lights.

Also bear in mind that the glare can be from the screen itself. Trying reducing the brightness to around 75.
