I have compiled the companies accident stats (AFR, AIR) but am trying to find the HSE's stats to over-3 day. Whilst my figures will help to see where are going and have been as a company it would be nice to see where we are within the construction industry as a whole.
Thanks in advance.

Personally I don't think the HSE stats are presented in as useful a way as they used to be - i used to be able to go to a table and look up the figures for my industry sector but the graphs they now use don't show that same level of detail in my view. Very pretty but of no value to people like me

I agree, very indepth. I have even tried to find MCG figures for their comparison and can't find anything. Would be nice to see how we are doing.

The detailed table for 2006/7 that has the RIDDOR AIR is at:-

http://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/tables/table1.htm

You need to expand the principal sectors

This is the level of data ( up to 2 digit SIC Code) that the HSE has always provided publicly.

In the distant past, when I was in another job, I used to request HSE statistics unit for the same type of data , but to the level of detail up to 4 digit SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes.

The problem lies in that it is extremely difficult, almost impossible to find the suplementary Tables" webpage, unless you know your way around the HSE website!!

All the supplementary tables with data is at;-

Try contacting some of your competitors and consider exchanging data in an anonymous way. This will allow all of you to make an accurate assessment. If anyone suggests that this could be a breach of competition law tell them they are wrong. We have checked it out.

Good Luck

Guys,

We had a debate with my colleagues about the records of accidents.

The injury pyramid we use,

1 fatality / disability
10 personal injury
30 Property Damage
600 incidents

What I would like to know is,
when the consequences of an accident covers;
a LTI, a FAI, Property Damage,
should I take the major injury/consequence in the stats and "ignore" other consequences while reporting??

The claim is,
"we have 3 reports and 6 consequences. Why do we include "sub-consequences" in the pyramid and the report"

Please guide me.

Thanks in advance;

Julide
