Dear All

A friend has just informed me that in her office they have put up dividing screens round the desks to eliminate noise so as people can hear telephone conversations. This is all fair and understandable.

Problem being there is now limited space in the walkways. As little as 600mm. I know its all down to risk assess but he needs back up. We've looked in workplace regs but to no avail.

Any ideas???

Michael Don't forget fire safety. The guidance for offices and shops states 750mm should normally be the minimum width for any escape routes.

If any of the walkways are on an escape route the width of the walkway should be at least the same as the fire door width - usually 750mm minimum. Also how about DDA/wheelchair access - usually 900mm or thereabouts.
