I have just been told that metal emergency stop buttons are now illegal, is this correct?

Posted By Brando I'll say hogwash to that unless someone can prove otherwise ( at which point I will eat humble pie and replace my emergency stop buttons ).
Mark - ask the obvious questions of the person making these claims - why? and where does it say that?

Posted By Philip Beale Even if the guidelines have changed then it's still daft to replace perfectly functional stop buttons for the sake of it. so long as you believe they are suitable and sufficient then why change them.
the colour coding on wiring changed but i don't see many companied completely re-wiring their premises.
we have some old kit on site but see no reason to change them they still stop the equipment.
