Hi, my dilemma involves health and safety governance.

My employer wants me to put together a strategy on health and safety governance and I just need that push on where to start.

Your advice and/or guidance would be appreciated on getting started.

Regards,

Chris

Christopher

Governance is simply a system of management.

If you want a start on how to develop your strategy there are several papers on Safety Exchange. www.web-safety.com/exchange/

If you select ‘Papers’ button on the left hand side you will get the whole list. I recommend Papers 10 to 14 as a good starting point to your reading.

Best wishes

Ciaran

Hi Christopher,

You could start by taking a look at BS 8900:2006 - Guidance on Managing Sustainable Development, and of course there is the government's CSR website: www.csr.gov.uk.

May not be exactly what you are after by may get you started by thinking along the road of guiding principles (transparency, inclusivity etc).

Good luck!
