Posted By Terry Dodds We have a problem with metal containers sliding of forks does anyone know if it is possible to purchase non slip rubber sleeves to fit onto the forks. Or does anyone have any other ideas how this problem can be resolved.

This sounds like a driver training issue or the use of inappropriate containers for lifting. Non slip forks are not the answer as the load needs to be secure. The essential answer is thus to have either some form of strap or containers with channels for the forks.
At the end of the day if the load slips the driver is also responsible as he is in charge of an item of lifting equipment

Posted By Bob B Terry. The containers you are talking about (stillages) should only be used for items that are unable to be staked safely. The problem is metal container on metal forks = less friction (especially when wet). Have you done a risk assessment?
I haven't heard of anything that can be put on the forks. If there were, my guess is that they probably wouldn't last long.
Sounds like the drivers are cornering too fast. These should be handled with care. My tips as a fully qualified FLT Instructor with 13 years experience: Don't carry any more than 2 at a time (subject to weight limits), ensure the container is tight against the heel of the forks, and use FULL back tilt.
Most importantly, let the managers know and monitor the drivers.
Hope this helps.

Posted By Dexter In my opinion, maybe you could manage to cutomize a pallet that is carefully design and approved by the engineers and other authorities concerned. materials to be used for the customized pallet should be strictly evaluated like PVC's with anti slip or friction to be use fo the metal containers or other slippery containers.
This customized pallet might be expensive but may also worth for eliminating falls or slips during lifting operations.
Make risks assessment about the design/s to compromise the design and avoid errors that may cause accident.
Just sharing my opinion.....hope it my help...
Cheers
