Hi All,

I have been asked to identify nip points on some machines. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about this?

Thanks,
L.

Lisa,

NEBOSH teaches that machinery mechanical hazards as follows (ENTICE):

ENtanglement
Traps (shearing, drawing in, and crushing)
Impact
Contact
Ejection.

So please do not skip the others and the non-mechanical hazards as wel..

For nip points, even a google image search will teach you alot.

For the precautions, simply guards, trip devices, photoelectric safety systems, mats, trip wires etc to stop the machinery right away.

Regards,

Julide
