Can anyone comment on industries approach to using dust sheets on stairs?
The risks are obvious, but also the requirement to protect people's houses are also obvious.
So with that in mind, is there an alternative to your 'traditional' material type dust sheet or are the risks accepted?

Brenda,
The first thing that should be considered is the trip hazard created by any form of dust sheet on stairs - it would be better perhaps to use a rigid sheet, that is firmly taped or otherwise secured.
Secondly consider the fire loading. Any temporary covering used indoors should comply with LPS 1207, which indicates fire retarding properties.
Hope this helps
Richard

You can lasy boards but it is very time consuming and expensive, depends really on the 'pedestrian traffic flow' and how much debris you would be bringing into th epremises

Without thinking about the occupants or other third parties I was initially thinking about the workers themselves.
If in reality dust sheets are still used, then we'll stick with them. Just wanted to know if anyone else had found anythng else.

You can obtain a self adhesive roll of protective material for just this purpose but I am sorry I cannot remember the name of it
