We have to unload steel from a trailer at a site. The trailer is on immediately on the road side. We have suggested:
Telehandler - No space Air bags - No space Competent person going up and down from trailer via a ladder to sling - not good enough. Two cheery pickers with a line across and harness attached to man on back of trailer (used before) no space. A solution given to us at a similar site and same principal contractor - similar to combi safe method - not good enough.
Currently we are down to possible; man attached to the underneath of a cherry picker aloft the trailer. I will be getting in touch with the cherry picker hirer to see if this is possible, but wanted your experienced thoughts.
I don't think this is ideal and wondered if anyone else had a similar problem and a possible solution.
Thanks
Ken
