Posted By Homer we have a wedge lock system erected as per manufaturers instructions around a steel portal building, it is our intention to place protective sheeting around the scaffold to protect from wind and rain to allow internal block work to be built. Scaffold is below 5 metres and is standard non complex build.
The suggestion is that we need an engineers certificate.
Is this really the case?
If we do who can complete it and what needs to be on it?
Is there a standard form?
We have access to engineers is it just a letter of conformity?

Posted By Garry Adams Hi Homer,
When sheeting is applied to a Scaffold Structure, Environmental factors come into play, i.e. Wind forces, therefore additional tie patterns will have to be added to the Structure, this calculation usually falls within the Design Engineers remit.
Therefore a consultation is required.
Regards, Garry...
