We have a site standard that specifies EExe T4 motors (top tier Seveso site!) but are finding them difficult and expensive to source. Has anyone any experience of equipment reclassification to EEx d T3 in ATEZ hazardous zones?

DSEAR is flexible. There is no point setting site standards unless they add to safety. In some circumstances, DSEAR allows you to use lower rated equipment provided you have a suitable & sufficient risk assessments in place and the basis of Safety operation is not compromised.
