Has anybody been through the 'single status' process aimed at council employees?

Hi Bob

Do you mean single status for 'pay & conditions = Job evaluation etc' e.g. union led, or single status as in creating a single tier authority?

I have been through the first scenario 3 times at three different authorities and it is not a nice process.

I can give more details if it is Job evaluation you mean.

Council tried to implement last April, union officials agreed, but members gave unions a thick ear and voted it out by a massive margin.

Unions and Council now on back foot and trying to "dress it up" in a better fashion.

Hi, been through both recently..case of head down and get on with it. we voted against terms of job evaluation and single status as both eroded pay and conditions for lots of staff. council gave notice and just imposed it at worse conditions than original offer, as they removed the sweeteners and implemented the basic terms etc.
merry Xmas.........
