Posted By Philip Beale so does that mean if someone trips and falls and doesn't have a camera they will ban all visitors. It's their logic phil

Posted By Tarquin Farquor Will they also ban people from using mobile phones whilst visiting? Or eating and drinking.... Or talking to someone next to them.... They'll be charging entry fees next? TF

Posted By Robert Tailby Contrary to other posts, I think this was a perfectly reasonable course of action on the basis that accident investigation showed looking at screens on cameras etc to be a major factor. The information that is missing is if the ban has made any difference to slip/trip incidents. I did also wonder why they hadn't thought of doing something about the uneaven floor? Anyway, everyone has almost forgotten the Da Vinci Code (and about the forgettable movie), so visitor numbers will no doubt continue to reduce over the next couple of years, and with it the number of accidents - although maybe not the frequency?

Posted By Brigham So Robert, are you saying we should ban the use of camera's at every tourist location where photographs are taken? What a load of tosh, it's more evidence of people being scared of anything litigious and nothing to do with common sense and the need for idiots to pay more attention to their surroundings.

Posted By Ken John I am with Brigham. People should just learn to be a bit more careful and look after themselves. You walk into an old building, the floor is bound to be uneven and cracked. It wont change, so take care as you walk around. Set yourself then take a picture. If you are walking around and not paying attention, I believe the fault is yours. Ken

Posted By Robert Tailby Ok Ok... I'm just saying slips and trips are not funny, and if there were a lot of them (not 1/160,000) due to the same cause, I would expect something to be done about it - and yes, I do work in insurance, and yes, we are the REAL H&S bogeymen!

Posted By Alan Hoskins The Director is also using flash triggered epilepsy as a 'health and safety' reason for his actions! Now whilst I understand that multiple flashes in quick succession - such as at a press call - can possibly bring on an attack, surely not the odd tourist flash in this type of situation. Not sought professional advice on this one I suspect. (and the numbers will fall) A
