However I hold the National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health & The NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management Certificate both taken this year and both these Certificates are set at NVQ level 3! With 3 years experience in the workplace But I only have an Affiliate membership could anybody enlighten me as to why a person can if you like go on the construction course pass it and then be granted Tech SP level does not seem fair some how

Kind Regards

Please don’t get me wrong, I am not looking to slate you or start a tit for tat barny. I just need to correct a minor issue.

The qualifications you list are set at the national curriculum level 3 not NVQ Level 3. The NVQ Level 3 is a qualification in its own right within the national curriculum at level 3. Does that make sense?

With regard to your question. Write to IOSH. Describe your: -

1. Duties
2. Full timer or part timer in the H/S world?
3. Qualifications
4. Experiences
5. Inside leg measurement

Make and build a case for yourself, sell yourself. Sent a copy of your TORs if need be.

People in your position do get Tech-IOSH status. But, just like the jump from Grad-IOSH to Walking on water-IOSH. You have gotta earn it.

Best of luck to you.

Tech IOSH through NEBOSH Quals requires

1) 5 years experience
http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...?go=membership.structure

2) through NEBOSH 1 or more of thease courses

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
Diploma Part 1

National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (Level 3)

National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health

International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

or

you can send evidence to justify the Membership Category when it goes to the board

everyone joins as an Affiliate Member until the board meeting were they decide which catigory is suited to your qualifications and time in health and safety. the board is held i think 4 times a year
