Posted By peter gannaway The 3 year limit and refresh requirement was put on the cert for a short, as it was considered to be an effective way of ensuring people didn't receive training, claim competence and never update skills. It was pointed out that there were other ways of maintaining CPD, and it was decided to remove the specific requirement to re sit. I understand you could for a while of sent your cert back and got the time bar removed, not sure if this still applies. The point is it is up to the individual to maintain knowledge whether through the cert refresh route or another way.
