A code of practice for timbner frame has been released by the HSE and UK timber fame association. However, I can not find a link to it or any information as tom where I can get hold of a copy. Phone calls to the HSE and the timber frame associateion have proved fruitless!!
Anyone know where I canget a copy?

I really must start reading what I write. My previous posting was riddled with errors. Apologies for the poor spelling.

Have you checked with the Fire Protection Association?
They appear to have input into contruction related fire safety codes of practice.

You may be thinking of BS 5268 Structural use of timber, which consists of a number of different parts.
Recently BSI issued an amendment to BS 5268-6.1:1996 Structural use of timber. Code of practice for timber frame walls.
You will need to check on the BSI’s website for details, http://www.bsi-global.co...20Publications/shop.html and if you subscribe to Barbour or CIS technical online libraries, you can download it from there. Otherwise, main public reference libraries usually have standards, or you can buy them from BSI.
Alternatively, TRADA has just published its 4th edition of "Timber frame construction" (£30 members price, £55 for non-members) and you can find this at TRADA's bookshop.
Hope this helps
