Posted By Robert Berry Hi All,
I'm not sure why senior management decided to give this task to the HSE department, but I have been tasked with investigating whether to apply Project Integrated Review in our company. After searching the internet I have yet to find sufficient detail on PIR and indeed a clear definition of PIR. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Robert

Never heard of it and nor has anyone else judging by the lack of responses. It is not aligned to a long 'weight' is it?

No, it is not related to a long "weight". it is a genuine program and there are several references to it on the internet but not enough detail.

I think it is an integrated approach to the review of a project, either on a programmed basis for longer projects or at the end of shorter projects.
Based on the initial project risk register (which includes commercial, HSE, business risk etc.), it reviews how the risks have been managed versus the risk log and reviews business and supplier/contractor performance. This allows for future improvements in HSE management and reduction of wastage through poorly managed commercial and project risks.
It is a good opportunity to identify good practices and project interventions and areas for organisational improvement.
Maybe you could take some of these thoughts, go back to your colleagues and ask whether this is what they are looking for.
