Posted By Baskaran Kumarasamy Hi All,
We want to send one of our safety committee representative for a training course which is offered by trade union free of cost. The course is 10 day long. Our management is not interested in releasing the people for 10 days.
I know, legally company should provide time off from work for a course but will the 10 days time off just attending Safety Reps training is reasonable?
Please advice, Is there any limit on no. of days or course content etc.. for Safety Reps training?
Thanks,
Regards,
Baskey

Posted By DP Baskaran, Inform your manager that not only will the person and the workforce get the benefit from the course but the company will also. Having been on both stage 1 and 2 courses (a long time ago) I can inform you that they are excellent courses.
Use this as a basis for working in partnership to improve safety in the workplace.
