Posted By Ron Hunter Calling all roofers, and particularly slaters! I'm coming across opinion that use of roofing irons is now "banned". I don't personally have an issue with using irons on the slope when the job also incorporates decent edge protection at the roof edge to mitigate the effect of any fall, and the roof itself is not fragile. Ladders and crawl boards seem to me to be too cumbersome on larger jobs? Anyone within the industry got a definitive on this for me?
