Posted By Jonathan Compton Hi All,
Here's a very easy question that I don't know the answer to;
On a construction site, does the RRFSO apply? If not, where are the requirements for sire based fire safety set out?
Obviously the Building regs specify particular building requirements as per the finished product, but what about during the construction process? And what about CDM refurbishment of existing buildings?
All comments welcome

Posted By CFT As the main requirement of the RRFSO is FRA (which includes a plethora of contractors on-site or in the cafe cabin, or in the PK offices then assess one must.

Posted By ivorfire Jonathan, It may also be worth mentioning and referring to Article 25 b(iv) (extract below) about the different enforcers, as by default it also quantifies a workplace as a construction site, so the FSO does apply and as you are probably aware HSE are the enforcer. The exception being those premises subject to Reg 33 which are those sites which are part occupied from existing persons when the Fire Service are the enforcers.
(iv) any workplace which is or is on a construction site within the meaning of regulation 2(1) of the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996[21] and to which those Regulations apply, other than construction sites referred to in regulation 33 of those Regulations.
Hope this further helps, Shaun
