Can a CDM-C acting on behalf of a Client also provide advice and monitor sites operated by the Principal Contractor ?

legislatively speaking, I see nothing to stop you; logically and morally I see liability problems and a variety of potential conflicts.

And as a CDM-C you would have the time to consider this proposal?

Just my thoughts.

If you remember the CDMC is primarily intended as a corporate appointment not an individual it is easier to understand why a CDMC may also provide consultancy to a PC. Separate people and appropriate information barriers - hence no conflict. DO NOT try it if you are a sole trader it can become awkward!

How about if the CDMc is also part of the organisation where the designer is appointed? Would there be a conflict of interest? Add to that the same organisation would appoint the principle contractor on behalf of the client.

As long as proper arrangements are made and the client is content then there are no specific issues.
