This may not be relevant but I am going to ask anyway as I don't know who else to ask.

Does anyone know of any course providers for Intermediate and advanced level food safety in the North West.

Also, course providers in the North West for Auditor courses

You can check the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) who have a list of registered trainers and training centres. The website is www.cieh.org/. The Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH) probaly also have a registered list.

Your Local Food Authority (usually the Council) will also know of local trainers/colleges and may run courses at the council etc.

Alternatively you may wish to go through a consultancy.

The main factor to consider is the number of people you wish to send away on the courses. If you have 20 people you wish to train at 'level 2 (new BFH)' it would probably work out cheaper to get an independent trainer to come in-house. However if you only have 1 or 2 people to train it would be cheaper to go to a local authority or local college (c£30 - £45 per head for the new level 2 award in food safety.

For the Auditor course you could check the IRCA website (International Register of Certified Auditors) who will have a list of training providers. I did my lead auditor with a company called batalas who were pretty good considering the subject matter which is boooorrrrrriiinnggg to say the least (sorry auditors).
