Posted By David Martin Does anyone know of any research that looks into evaluating the advantage of doubling-up hearing protection.
I am aware you cannot just add the Assumed Protection values together and that the advantage is somewhere between 5dB and 10dB but I need to be qble to quote some research report that backs this up.
Thanks in anticipation

Posted By John Richards I think it would be nearer 3dba. 30db of quieting + 30 db of quieting = 33dba reduction .

Posted By David Martin I don't think its as easy as that either John. Something to do with bone conduction having an affect.
I read an American document that quoted 5dB - 10dB but it didn't name the source.
