At the match last night a discussion was taking place around me about why the club stopped the playing of the 'liquidator' by Harry J Allstars.
(This tune was played by both WBA and the great unwashed down the road before the teams came out. It is now banned at both clubs by the way WM police asked Wolves to ban it at molinpoo!)

It seems from the discussion that was going on that a 'safety council' banned the club from playing it due to some bad language aimed at our cousins from the dark side being incorporated into the tune.

Of course 'health and safety' was to blame and the 'world has gone mad' comments were forthcoming.

I got asked 'who are the safety council'.I replied that it must be some sort of H&S committee that rule on the football club matters.
Does anybody know who these people may be?

Boing Boing,

I think it's probaly to do with the anti-racist "show racism the red card" campaign in football at the moment not H&S.

The Harry J All Stars are not actually a proper band. They were session musicians employed by the Jamaican Producer Harry Johnson and released a whole LP called Liquidator in 1969 with such gems as Je T'Aime and The Big Three done in the same organ reggae style!!

Quite how a record recorded by Jamaicans in Jamaica that bizarely made the UK charts in the pre Bob Marley days is racist I don't know! If somebody has b@st@rdised a reggae tune with racist lyrics then that reflects on their mentality I guess!!!

Now, if I just knew as much about H&S as I do about obscure reggae I would be a CFIOSH on 50k a year by now ;-)

Unfortunately Ian some fans have "b@st@rdised" the lyrics which is why the Police have requested the song is not played. Usual minority of D*ck****s ruining it for the majority.

Just to enlighten people on how the song used to be sung by supporters.
The lyrics used by both sets of supporters was 'eff off Wanderers, west Brom' or 'eff off West Brom, We're Wolves'.
Absolutely no racist lyrics whatsoever.

Aren't they one of the teams where they make Lone Watching Risk Assessments:-)

Are the days of the Villa/City/Wolves/West Brom rivalry when it was red in tooth and claw..
