Hi,
My company is involved in undertaking the role of PSDP for a job in Dublin.
The architects for the job are French. As far as i am aware, mainland European countries work to the Civil Law sytem. Unfortunately, i know very little about health and safety law in France. In order to help these architects, i would like to be able to appreciate what they do under French law and how it compares to Irish law. Can someone provide me with information with regards designers duties in France??

I stand to be corrected but I would have thought that it would be Irish legislation that governs the duties of the architects, regardless of where they are based, if the project is in Dublin.

Chapitre VIII of the French Code du Travail is titled "Dispositions particulières relatives à la coordination pour certaines opérations de bâtiment ou de génie civile" and is similar to UK CDM so your architects should be quite familiar with the concepts although details will differ. (e.g. coordinator competences are specified at three levels)
And no, I'm not going to translate it. It takes 16 pages with 56 articles.
As they should already have that knowledge base then a "compare and contrast" exercise would help them to understand and comply with your legislation
Merv
And the spell checker has just gone bright pink.
