Hi, we use HP washdown guns for cleaning around the workplace and was wondering if anyone had any information on what the minimum pressure is when special PPE is required, rather than steel toe capped wellington boots etc. Our system has been limited to 132 Bar, it had been as high as 185 Bar. Some advice would be appreciated.

I would speak to the manufacturer of the washers. When I supplied the Bogey Wash to the L.U.L Jubilee Line project the German manufacturer of the pressure washer specified the correct PPE. Ear defenders, face visor, wellingtons, particle & moisture face mask, I am pretty sure waterproof suits were NOT a requirement.

Try contacting the water jetting association who have 2 publication, one for water jetting and one for high pressure water jetting. They should be able to let you know over what pressure requires a greater level of projection.
