I have been running my own health & safety consultancy for 18 years now and am looking towards retirement in a couple of years time. I am wondering how others may have dealt with this situation.
What advice does anyone have on disposing of such a business

I suspect that it would be difficult to sell a small safety consultancy business as staff and clients are at their most mobile when businesses change hands. Also your PI insurance run-off liability is likely to be greater than any residual value of the business.

Arran, do you have any experience of selling a H&S consultancy?
Steve, if you operate in the London towards the eastern regions I'd be happy to discuss.

Steve, a quick check on the internet reveals the answer is no, so please ignore my earler response.

Would we be able to discuss the problems Arran? We're looking to expand and of course difficulties in selling reflect on the success of buying appropriately.

Geoff and Steve,
I am quite happy to discuss this privately off this forum with just both of you.
