Posted By Graham Carson Hi All Seeking advice on whether a DGSA should be appointed or not. I work for a transport company that has a policy of not handling, loading, transporting or storing ANY hazardous goods. Any requests we get to undertake such activities is passed on to one of our appointed subcontracted companies and they pick up and drop off such loads without any other involvement by us. Do we need a DGSA. I have tried to wade through the regs but as usual they are not conducive to plain understanding. Thanks all in anticipation GMCHAS

Posted By IainThomson Graham, I would say not, you would of course have to ensure that the contractor you use has an appointed DGSA though. Regards, Iain

Posted By Dave Wilson You only need to appoint or have access to a DGSA if you are transporting DG which are in scope, even if only for one day!

Posted By MP In my (as a DGSA) opinion you don't. As you are not regularly transporting DGs above the thresholds, the Regs don't apply. Regards MP
