Posted By Glyn Atkinson Can I suggest two places of use for information - the HSE technical leaflets on their website, and the WOODNIG website, which specialises in woodworking issues. May I also respectfully give some advice - if you are not familiar with woodworking machinery, do not assume that you can make a considered risk assessment or provide an SOP from safety knowledge alone. I have 30 years + of varied technical knowledge, including instrumentation, interlock system and electrics, and I am 5 years into my present job in a benchmark company involving woodworking manufacture as part of a finished leisure product. I still have advice regularly from our expert machinists and managers when a new piece of equipment, interlock or loading device comes onto the market and I have to give a full assessment on the likelihood of injury. Never assume that your thoughts run on the same lines as an operator of machinery.
