Posted By Jonathan Sandler CMIOSH We have an issue on some of our sites and am wondering if anybody else has come across this. Is there training for this piece of equipment? We have been to the supplier, who has stated they do not provide training for this piece of equipment, the manufacturer can not help either. IF YOU ARE A TRAINING PROVIDER DO NOT POST A REPLY ON THIS WEB SITE THIS THREAD WILL BE LOCKED AND I WILL NOT BE HAPPY. PLEASE REPLY TO ME DIRECTLY. This equipment also comes under LOLER. Simple solutions welcomed. Thanks for your reply.

Posted By Jonathan Sandler CMIOSH Mr P. Thanks for this, so let me see if I am understanding this. The company who produces this equipment does not have a training programme, basically. Are you aware of anybody who has produced a training programme and can delivery it and provide a certificate of competency? If YES the PLEASE just say YES and contact me direct. Thanks JONATHAN (never known as PAUL)

Posted By Ste Germski Hello Jonathon, We use these Genie Lifts quite often for installing steelwork on site. We have alot of competent users of this equipment who will give in-house training on this equipment to operatives who have had little or no-use of these lifts. We also make sure that manufacturers instructions are availble to give guidance in the instructions given. Toolbox Talks and Risk Assessments are put into place and the supervisor always completes a lift-plan taking into consideration the use of this equipment. It may also be an idea to ask the company were it is bought/hired from to give some instruction/training. Steve H
