We are looking to put together an information/induction pack for a number of both English and foreign contractors who will be installing equipment in our new factory soon to be handed over to us by the building contractor.
As we wont have staff on site at all times I am looking for suggestions as to what to include, for example emergency contact names & numbers, are we obliged to provide them with first aid cover etc.
Any suggestions welcome.

Hi Lawrence
Having to deal with foreign contractors can cause problems but if you put together a concise induction package well before the contractors are on site the problems will disappear. The following could assist you with the content of your package
1 Have an interpretor on site
2 Have the induction documention in English with the foreign language translation of the contractors
3 Scope of the project
4 Telephone facilities
5 Site Layout
6 Details of First Aiders
7 Train a foreign worker in First Aid
8 Have an English speaking First Aider
9 Emergency Phone Numbers
10 Hand size maps as well as a wall map
of the nearest Hospital Facility
11 Procedures for the supply and use of
PPE
12 Procedures for reporting unsafe acts
13 Procedures for consultation
14 Procedures for informing of Company
Rules
15 Actions in the event of an Emergency
16 Personal Responsibilities
17 Site Procedures eg Permits
18 Welfare Facilities
19 Specific Site Hazards
20 Confidential Procedures
