Posted By Keith Knowles Is anyone aware of any forthcoming legislation that will impact on health and safety consultancy? I have been asked to provide a 10 minute presentation on this subject but cannot find anything relating to forthcoming legislation and safety consultancy?

Posted By CFT Keith Any forthcoming legislation either direct or linked to what level of consultancy you are going to provide will be relevant. Take the CM&CH Act, that would be enough to fill a day with. Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 changes due April 2008, if you don't fancy the first one. CFT

Posted By Chris Packham REACH will impact on almost all businesses in some form or other. Given 849 pages of regulation and many thousands of pages of guidance notes, its technical complexity, etc. and that fact that full implementation is scheduled to take until 2018 would a short presentation be enough? Posted By Thomas2008 Keith Could you be referring to competency here? There's no new legislation I'm aware of but IOSH via the SHP (article a few months back) and some members on hetre have indicated a strong desire for regulation of the profession. I've no doubt if some had their wish industry would have strict guidelines to follow on appointing a competent H&S person. Perhaps something along the line of CDM-C's. Have a read through some of the forum topics. You'll get a feel for the vibes I'm referring to. Thomas
