We have 2 units on a small industrial estate that is served by a single access road designated a "private road". We occasionally need to use a fork truck on this road between our 2 units. Can anyone confirm that there are no special requirements for this activity, for example DVLA stipulations referred to on previous threads which apply on "public roads"?
Regards
John

I think that thread only deals with the use on "public roads". Our road is a cul-de-sac only serving the industrial estate and is designated a "private road".

If the road is private there are no road laws that apply. But, you still need to have any competence certificates and systems of work as in any part of a factory. You need relevant insurance cover for using the plant as that is what it is.
