Posted By Jimmy R Para 29 of the CDM Regs 07 requires that arrangements for carrying out dismantling (in this case of 3 storey fire stairwell tiled inner walls)must be recorded before the dismantling work begins. I have a list of items I believe should be in the arrangements but I wanted to seek other views or suggestions? i.e. Risk assessments, method statements, alternative fire evacuation plans, noise, dust, asbestos, general and hazardous waste removal, WAH etc.

Posted By Ron Hunter That would be Regulation 29, not para 29. I believe the key intention of CDM is a focus on method and sequence, ensuring ACM Type 3 and soft strip, and a proper and competent consideration of the design and construction of the structure when devising the best and safest way to bring it, considering issues of temporary instability etc. In other words Regulation 29 is a focus on your Method Statement. Other issues of CDM (welfare, competency, noise, dust etc.) are discussed elsewhere in the Regulations. Regulation 29 is the "alternative" to old CDM requirements which made all demolition Notifiable.

Posted By Robert K Lewis Ron Strictly reg 29 is a revamped regulation 10 of the old CHSWR and is intended to ensure that all demolition is planned and executed etc safely. Agree though that the other prts of CDM07 manage most of the work activity requirements Bob
