We are looking to store gas bottles used for welding, flts, etc outside in a cage, I seem to remember that they should be at least 2 to 8 metres away from any other building, can anyone confirm this or advise what it should be, thanks.

Lawrence,
There have been numerous threads with similar themes over recent months. There is a wealth of information in BCGA guidance note GN2, the storage of gas cylinders in the workplace. Generally, the minimum separation distance between stored cylinders and other buildings is 3 metres but this depends on the gases involved. If your FLTs run on LPG this needs to be separated from any oxygen and acetylene cylinders within the cage by a minimum of 3 metres.
