We have recently won a new contract whereby our guys maintain dustcarts, this is a new area to me, does anyone have a risk assessment that I could have a look at please? or some pointers as to where I can find some information from.
thanks

Hi LBW
Any chance you could send me a copy of your risk assessments?
Thanks

These things smell. There can be significant work at height issues to service some hydraulic components, even confined space issues if you need to clear or service the running groove for the ejector ram.
Testing or adjustment of defective automatic bin lifters in the workshop can be an "exciting" exercise if not done by the book.
All in all the risks are very much dependent on the make model and type - you need the hand books!

Don't forget all the rubbish that falls out of the wheelie bins and bin bags only to get lodged in the bottom. Thinks like used hypodermics for instance. Then there's rat urine and it's associated risks. It's a bit of a minefield once you scrape the surface.
