Posted By Martin Thorpe I'm involved with a client who does not agree with my interpretation of requirements for signagae required to comply with the Smoke Free Regulations 2007. The regulations require places of work to display specific signs at each entrance, in a PROMINANT position visible to all employees, customers and visitors. The client currently displays a small sign at the main entrance while an A5 sign is on a noticeboard inside the rear entrance door (you have to be inside the building before you can see it). After seeking the advise from an EHO who specialises in this legislation I've recommended that the larger sign is displayed at the entrance while the small sign is re-positioned on the outside of the rear entrance. The client does not believe that the signage needs to be positioned. I realise that it is relatively insignificant, but doen anyone have any thoughts?

Posted By CFT To put it to bed: Entrances to premises, (entrance” means an entrance for use by persons);should display a sign which is minimum of A5 in area (210mm x 148mm),there are a few exceptions such as inside a larger premises where the larger one is already displayed.Martyn is right though, record it and move onwards and upwards.
