I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction of procuring a PAT tester and obviously some training in it's use. I am located in the Exeter area.

We got ours from here:

http://www.pat-training....luke_6200_pat_tester.htm

It came with a very informative CD, and when I checked with the HSE InfoLine, I was informed that a "competant" person could carry out the tests.

This is a link to the HSE PDF on PAT:

The IET (formerly The IEE) also run the City & Guilds PAT courses all over the UK, but they are more expensive than the dcet.co.uk course SJA mentions above:

Thanks everyone, I looked on all the websites you have suggested and came up trumps, both with the tester and the training.
