Posted By keith k Does this act allow claims to be filed in UK courts for actions which occurred outside of the UK if the company was a UK based operation and had their personnel managing the work?

Posted By CFT Keith No it doesn't, unless that UK law applies within the country domain. It applies to territorial limits via plane boat hovercraft and certain rigs etc. What it does make provision for, is any company working in the UK whether incorporated here or not; so in other words when working internationally (generally) one works to the legislative requirements of that particular country. Posted By Bob Shillabeer Just to get the topic right, you say about a claim being registered. Are you confusing this piece of legislation with another type of law? The Corp Manslaughter Act is a criminal piece of law not civil so you cannot make a claim aginst anyone charged under it, that is a civil law action. You may take a civil action based upon the result of the case concerned but not expect to be able to do so as part of it.

Posted By CFT Agree Bob; I have however surmised that 'claim' was not intended in the way in which you rightly respond..
Might be wrong, no doubt the original poster will let us know;-)

Posted By keith k Thank you Gents, you have answered my question. It was regarding criminal claims rather than civil. Sorry for the late response.
