Hello all

I've just completed a pregnancy risk assessment and an issue that was raised was wearing PPE later in her pregnancy.

The company policy is everyone must wear orange trousers with reflective strips. I'm really struggling to find a supplier who can supply orange trousers with elasticated waist that are not waterproof as these will become very uncomfortable for her to wear during the summer months.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I know this isn't much help to you but I do think this is an untapped market for some clothing manufacturer. I've failed in the past to find lab coats and boiler suits for pregnant ladies

Hi Princey,

I just had a look in our ARCO catalogue and they do material high-vis orange trousers and a rather fetching orange high-viz bib and braces which may be more comfortable for someone who is pregnant yet still compliant.

Have a look on their web site www.arco.co.uk

Si

(Note: I do not work for ARCO lol)

Hello

You can buy the hi-viz tape on its own and any dry cleaners etc will sew it on to trousers.
Kind regards
Julie

Julie suggested;-
"You can buy the hi-viz tape on its own and any dry cleaners etc will sew it on to trousers."

Or just chop the legs off a pair of Hi Vi trousers and sew them on some maternity trousers?

Maybe you could buy a big pair of normal material ones as suggested above, and get a local seamstress to turn them into maternity trousers, i.e. put elastic in the waist, or a button at each side with a row of buttonholes so they can be extended out as the pregnancy progresses (I found these best as the elasticated ones didn't fit me until right at the very end and I had to keep safety pinning them and kept worrying about them falling down!!!).

Benefit of this is that they are CE marked and to a standard, whereas if you make your own...
